preaty much a whiskey using unpeated malt will get you close, a grain bill of barely and oats will get you very close

Surely Mac whisky will be Scottish, maybe we should rename it O'MacWhisky if it is Irish?

Nah mate, there's no peat in that recipe..... but it's definitely no bourbon ;-)

Crow, what ratio of barley to oats would you suggest?

that really would depend on the diastatic power of barley malt but I reckon 1/4 malted barley to 3/4 unmalted oats would make for a very simple mash that should produce a quite smooth sipping whiskey that should require very little aging. You can vary that bill to your tastes but I think that would be a good starting point :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Thanks mate, great to know. The 3kg of quick oats I have here will not be enough, I'll buy more tomorrow and put 60L down and see how we go. :handgestures-thumbupleft:
