Little bit of vapour out of the condensor?

Postby busman » Sat Sep 24, 2011 12:20 pm

So I'm doing a strip run through my pot still, its belting along nicely, putting out about 5.5 to 6 litres an hour, but there is always just a little bit of vapour coming out the end of the condensor with the product. I'm running plenty of water through the liebig, its barely warm coming out, just wondering if a little bit of vapour is normal or if I'm wasting perfectly good booze?

You are wasting good booze and making a dangerous enviroment.

Push a little bit of stretched out scubber up the length of it with a stick of solder or some wire will help, but otherwise turn the heat down and strip slower till you get it solved.

Try using some ice to cool down where you collect a 2 l bottle of ice or put your collecting vessel in an ice bucket only problem hot into cold may crack glass stainless steel collector might be best .
