Newbie - 3" Reflux Design

I would probably just weld the reflux line direct into the reducer above your take off- its up to you :handgestures-thumbupleft:
Mine is a double reducer design ;-)

Yes it works fine in 3"

Column lengths has already been discussed, I advised 1300mm to 1500mm of packing.

Solder the cup to the bottom of your coil, it's only there to stop reflux falling directly back down the column by directing it into the collection area.

The collection area should hold 80 to 100ml of fluid in a 3"

Thanks, I wasn't sure, due to being a different design that the column length may of varied. Because you mention packed length, I'll assume that's without the condensor which would make the total height in the region of 1600mm - 1800mm.

I got the gist of why the cup was there.

If it's built as a 3" diameter column,, the reduced section pipe diameter should be ???
