Been thinking about next build. Ive seen the coil condesors people are building and most consist of an inner coil which then has an outer coil around it. Would it be more efficient if the outer coil had a separate water supply from the inner coil. ie. have 2x condensor water inlets and 2 water oulets and or would this be just over kill?
Hi Bing, part of the reason we use a double helix condenser is when you wind the first coil (down), you need to come back up again. so why not coil it again (up) to increase the surface area ;-) you could have them separate, but why over engineer things :handgestures-thumbupleft: (unless your having a lot of trouble knocking down the vapour) ;-)
cheers bud, what do you guys think of having a 50x100 reducer at the end of me 50mm colomn then a triple or quadriple helix condenser to fit a short length of 100mm (4") then capped off again?
that should knock down the vapour just fine :handgestures-thumbupleft: Something to consider, how are you pushing the water thru it? ( garden tap or pump) what size pipe are you using and how long is the pipe b4 you wind it?
want 2 use 1/4" pipe and use tap pressure. But Im starting to realise that unless you got adequate heat input combined with enough cooling it still takes 6 hours to produce 5 ltr not bad stuff (cutting out heads tails). fucking hard work but kinda worth it. all ways looking for short cuts,. I dream of building something you pour shit into and honey comes out, but its a secret design the iran government is looking at the moment so when it goes public I will sue them and donate the money to this site
