Stainless steel scrubbers

I have had my t500 for 10 years now. It came with copper and ceramic saddles, which I remove after each distillation of TPW. ( Which I am happy with).
I read that it is suggested that the ceramic saddles be replaced by stainless steel scrubbers from that hardware chain.
1. How many scrubbers do I need?
2 Do I keep the copper saddles in?
3. I have two thermometers attached to the column. The bottom one, keep as close to 55 degrees as possible by water control. The top thermometer runs at 78 ish. What temperatues should I aim for with scrubbers?

Thanks

Stainless scrubbers with no soap from the big green shed (Bunny house) get a few packets, not too tight so you can breathe through it.

Always good to leave copper in the path. If you have the copper T500 you could get away with leaving the copper saddles out, but if you have them why not use them? More copper rather than less would be my view.

Fill the rest of the column with the SS scrubbers and per chipboy’s previous post just make sure you don’t pack them too tight, you should be able to breath through the column with ease.
