Cleaning rum residue

Postby FilthyPhil » Mon Feb 21, 2022 10:35 am

Hi, I have successfully made a few CFW's & Nutrigrain Whiskeys before but this time I'm trying rum. I've done 3 stripping runs & have about 30 litres of low wines
I usually just hose out the still & keg boiler (2" pot still with shotgun condenser) after each stripping & spirit run but the rum leaves a bit more residue so I am wondering whether to just hose it out or if I need to do a cleaning run or sacrifical run before doing my rum spirit run?

At the risk of stealing the thread is it just the wash that wants to puke or does the low wines still have that tendency
