Stripping Is Fun

Postby Moonshyner » Wed Jun 29, 2022 8:12 pm

Just finished doing my first cleaning/stripping run using only 10 litres of sugar wash with the Alcoengine pot still running it at full bore.
Discarded the first 200mL.
Then collected 1600mL at 55% final ABV (20C).

Next step is to dilute part of it to 40% and run it through the air still as I don't have enough to do a spirit run (yet)....and my supply is running low.

It was the 1st time using a pot still and doing a stripping run.
Looking forward to many more 'strips'.

Cheers,
Moonshyner

Probably best to throw out your output. It is called a sacrificial run because we sacrifice what is produced as any crap left behind from manufacturing will be cleaned out in that run.

Pleased it went well for you now to resist the temptation to get more fermenters lol
