Just put down a corn imitation whiskey mash.
In other words a cornflakes spirit run.
Read so much about cornflakes and other cereals,
Am trying this....
4.4 kg dextrose
700g of woolies corn flakes
A pinch of epsom salts
A good pinch of citric acid
50g Ale Malt (fine grind)
Still Spirits Whiskey Yeast
Water to 21 litres - Maybe 23 depending pn SG
Am still learning this trade.
I'll get there.

It’ll turn out fine but….
You don’t need dex, normal white sugar will suffice .
And you don’t really need epsom and citric unless you’ve got PH issues with your water.
Enjoy the journey and keep things simple :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I would say the citric (or lactic or other mild acid) will help in a whiskey wash to sour the mash for a better flavour profile. Like adding back a spent wash. Have to take care of the pH tho’.

I’ve never used citric in my cornflake wash and never had an issue

Thanks for that.
I will start using sugar when I use up the rest of the dextrose. Got 2 x 25kg bags left.
Cheers,
