Molasses rum ingredients

Hey there I have been given 14kgs of molasses and a alembec copper head my question is
A. I have brown sugar is that ok to use instead of raw sugar
B Do I have to run the final product through a carbon filter
C. Lastly is 5 pts of molasses equivalent to 7.5 klg

A. With 14kgs of molly you could do an all molly wash and skip the sugar altogether.

Brown sugar or raw sugar, no problem using either.

B. Do good cuts and you won't need to carbon filter.

C. Not sure exactly what you are asking but 1Litre of molly is equal to roughly 1.5kg. It will have roughly 50% fermentable sugar.

The litres per kg varies a bit and will need to be weighed.
The bulk bundy catering one is 25kg for 20l - 1.25kg/l
My local stock feed is 1.335/l
How much sugar is in each one i wonder? My bet is the food grade one is higher? Lighter n more refined? Or do they add more water? :think:

You might want to pay attention to temps, rum likes 30+ ferment temps, most wait till summer. My current one has stalled big time, will have to throw a heater at it.

Thanks for all your help I feel like I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed ,I just can’t get my head around the whole molasses thing but I’ll keep trying cheers
