Hi all,

I’m brand new to distilling and apart from a couple of Airstill runs, haven’t done much!

I’m looking at upgrading and have been browsing the
Does anybody have any experience/advice with these stills? They are located in Victoria and seem to be well built?

I’m looking at the 3” 4 plate column still (picture below), and putting it onto a 35L Brewzilla.

Thanks so much for all your expertise.

it's hard to decide on your first still.
i suppose some consideration to the volume and type of product you expect, matched to your fermenting capabilities.
i think that still may require a packed section to produce good neutral?
then i don't know if the 2400w in the brewzilla/digiboil will be enough?
it would definitely need a power controller, you can't just use the 1900w like the site suggests.
it depends on the financials, but something like the FSD Neutralizer, you wouldn't have any regrets.
BTW i'm stuck on a 35l brewzilla + 2" CM still :-|

Welcome BKelly
Always so difficult to decide what to get. Start with what you want to make the most, yes we all want to make everything lol. Then think about the volumes as has been suggested. Think about the capacity of your cooling water and storage.
1 thing often overlooked is the weight of the plates and the ability of the lid to support that weight as the pot empties, will it tip over will the lid flex etc.
If you are hoping to e pans later don’t get something that you can’t build on. I have the brewzilla 35 but sorry I have only
the glass lid so no idea on strength of metal lid

Forget the 3", go a 4", from a dedicated distilling specialist like 5star, a few extra $$ for knowledge and support is worth it, the few extra $$ for the size saves many hours in the long run, the beer shops don't know squat.

Thanks so much for all the help, everyone.

I have contacted and had a chat him. I'm hoping to come up with something within a reasonable price, and able to be upgraded into the future.

In the meantime, I'll definitely keep reading up on the forum!!
