I have what I think is a gen 1 Alcoengine copper reflux column (optionally packed with stainless steel wool), attached to a still spirits (gen 1 2000W boiler).
Column Dimensions:
Height 510-520mm
Outer Diameter 50mm
Inside diameter at base: 45mm
Outer Diameter at base with locking nut: 66mm
Outer Diameter at threaded base: 57mm
Distillate outlet valve, (brass nut attachment for copper "straw" spout): Length 13mm
Internal hole diameter: 2mm
1. Can I convert this to column tri-clover I wonder? I have just bought a carbon filter kit from Kegland that can be used as a column extension as well, though it won't fit my setup as is.
Apparantly Kegland's adapters won't help either?
2. Given that I want to make a quality clean neutral, do I need a smaller outlet valve?
3. Is this setup going to get me where I want to be? (Starting with cask wine to practice with then moving on to grain mash).
a. I want to make a good quality neutral
b. Then make liquers and gin
c. Later, whiskey, spiced rum and agave spirit. ( most likely need a dedicated pot still for that...)
4. If not this, what's a good, modular setup to meet my needs?
