Corney Keg to Store head/tails and 90% +

Postby Dfer » Fri Jan 09, 2026 12:46 pm

Santa delivered 2 x Kegland corney kegs the I plan to use to store 2. Heads Tails and 2. 90% abv spirits.
My reading says no rubber seals and to use only silicone or teflon.
Kegland states their seal are:

“Unlike Silicone O-Rings, LOW2 O-Rings are made from synthetic M-Class Cross-Linked elastomer for superior oxygen barrier properties to prevent O2 ingress.”
Can I use these or do i need to wrap them on teflon tape or buy silicone seals?
Cheers
Dennis

Dennis, I bought a sheet of pfte on amazon at the right thickness, and used some cutting tools to do it for one keg (cant remember thickness, maybe 5mm?). Works a treat. I also replaced the posts and pressure relief valve with bolts - keep in mind they also have rubber seals.

Edit: I bought a 50L keg off kegland for the neutral but I'm still figuring out how to decently tap it haha. Probably just get some stainless shop to weld a tap on.

Thanks MM. I also have a sheet to use but was wondering if if the one fitted is ok?
