I am another +1 for the ultra pure reflux still. I love mine, and it's much sturdier than a t500 and has everything you want including digital thermometer in the box.

I did a lot of research and the t500 is so flimsy in comparison.

I want a potstill now too, but I love my ultra pure!

puredistilling.com still sells the same reflux still I am still happily running ... I got mine off their eBay site from memory....That's a lot of stills ... They will ship anywhere in oz. call them, as you will want to go with the 30 litre boiler option or just buy a boil a beer boiler from your local hbs

Check out the UTube vids of these running and then check out the t500 videos. The pure distilling still is a tank in comparison.

Just be sure to do a run of nothing but water to purge all the construction chemicals and do TPW instead of turbos.

TPW will mean less yield but I just couldn't get past the acetone/turps smell of a turbo vs the clean purity of a TPW.

I dunno if that was the yeast itself or what but since swapping to homebrand tomato paste, supermarket yeast, pinch of citric acid, pinch of Epsom Salt and 5kg of homebrand sugar the quality p the spirit is like chalk and cheese.

Q: How many fermenters does a distiller need?

A: MORE!

Yeah ya never really have enough fermenters. Wait a little while and see how you go - my current frustration is that my fermenters are all 30L and I find if I am going to crank up the still i want to be doing 60 - 100L batches given there's almost no real increase in effort required .... Will have to get a 100L fermenter .... One day ....
