Doing 35 to 40 L wash on a 2.2kW heater

Postby karrotbear » Wed Sep 12, 2012 8:11 am

Hey guys just wondering if you could tell me if a 2.2kW or 2.4kW element from the brewshop will serve my purposes? I would be running it through a 2" boka, off of a 50L keg. Would I need to have 2 elements, or would I be right with just the one?

Hi Karrot,
you will probably find that 1 element will work perfectly for running a 2" Bok for refluxing and take off etc,
but it's gunna take a long time to get up to temp. ;-)

Yeh I'd run 2 of those elements & un plug one once your up to temp, 2200w seems about right for a 2" bok with no need for a controller :handgestures-thumbupleft:
