TPW stalled or nearly finished???

Postby Twat » Fri Sep 14, 2012 5:07 pm

My first TPW was put down last Sunday afternoon (5 full days)
Forgot to take start SG reading :angry-banghead:
Have not checked it in the last 2 days, has been wrapped in 3 blankets up on the bench in the shed.
Just went out to find no bubbles in 5 min, ripped off the lid thinking it might have got too cold and stalled
Tossed in the hydrometer and it has an SG of 94?
(Crap it can,t finish that fast, I haven't made the condenser yet)
Does taste very dry
Gave it a really good stirr and reinstalled the lid and air lock, now bubbling slowly.

Should I be concerned?
Plan is to let it settle for a week before first run next weekend! Provided I can develop some condenser building skills.
Cheers

SG of 94???
940 do yo u mean? is that possible - are you temp correcting your hydro?
Depending on temps and other conditions i think TPW can ferment out pretty quickly

As it's always said - don't take much notice of the bubbles
Look at the surface of the wash - is it fizzing still?
If you say it's dry then it's prolly close to being done.
So yep - keep it under airlock now and it will sit and wait for you to finish your build.

Yes SG 994 - not temp corrected, must do that....
No real fizz left on top
Good to know it will sit safely for a while

Cat had no hair and lots of skin folds when he was young, looked like a sphincter :D
Called him "what"
Couldnt call him pussy

Ah ok 994 - then it's pretty much done.
I don't think temp correcting is as important for hyrdos compared to alcos - i was just trying to think of what 94 or 940 might be :p
