Sodium carbonate in low wines seems to clean.

Fill the boiler - heat to 50*C +

Add sodium percarbonate or unscented napisan

Leave to soak for a little while and should be sparkling

Cheers

Keep your hot backset in the boiler and fill with hot water, add a heap of citric acid if you like.... and boil the fuck out of it ;)

Or leave all the scum stuck to the sides to add a nice manky flavor when you start doing rums

I have a keg just for rum, it's got this wonderful brown tinge to it inside.... I wouldnt dare clean it 8-)

Mine had a small amount of staining in it just in the lower part from before I started doing stripped washes.
The last few washes I have put through have all been stripped. After I finished running the still today with stripped TPW I gave it a quick rub with one of those green scourer things, the stains came straight off.
Mine has the external element so yours might not be so easy
