FAIL

Bloody lid to boiler wouldn't seal and started letting vapour out. My brilliant design made it impossible to seal with paste on the run so had to shut it all down.

Will wait until all is cooled down and then have a little counselling session with that lid. That's today in the shitter, hopefully tomorrow will bring success.

I read somewhere that cooked spaggetti makes a good seal on pot lids if you have a two flat surfaces that meet ...lay it like an O ring on one surface then put the lid on and clamp it down......Ive also read that rye flour makes a better seal than wheat flour. Cant vouch for either idea......just what Ive read.

If you are trying for a neutral spirit, and only have a potstill- have you tried adding Sodium Bicarbonate (Natriumbicarbonat) to the low wines?
(The low % alcohol after the 1st distillation).
adding about 15ml of the bicarbonate powder to each liter of low wines, and letting it react for a week, will help break down flavor esters in the alcohol, making it more neutral.
how much was the 10L model to ship to Germany? Ive' been wanting one of those, too! (I live in the north, too!)

G'day Johnny, I managed to achieve my neutral goal but thanks anyway,

however for your delivery cost question it was about 40€ I think give or take 10€.

Now quickly jump over to the introduction spot and say hi to everyone before the locals form a posse and lynch your foreign arse :-D

The bicarb will still help you in your neutral as it compresses the head fraction in effect.
