Using a plastic liner in Ferment drum?

I've got this 70L stock feed drum that has a crack in the bottom, tried araldite but no joy.. I wanted to know If i could safely use a plastic bin liner seal the drum and ferment a rum wash..if so, what kind of plastic should i look out for..do regular bin liners have nasty chemicals in them or can they afffect the fermentation process at all?

I have seen at a beer "U Brew It" place they use plastic liners to save cleaning the fermenter. Not sure if its a special type of plastic but if called one im sure they would tell you where they get them.

As long as your not doing a super high alc wash it shouldn't leach any nasties.

yes you can

LDPE would work well .. (husker on HD just posated about it)
most suitable bags are made with food grade material as company's dont want to contaminate machinery and then have to "clean" off non food grade material

Pressure build up "could" cause the liner to force out the split, just a thought.
Set fire to an old ice cream container and drip the molten plastic onto the split (plastic welding in a crude form) then the liner wouldnt come out?
