interesting, i might check mine out. interestingly enough the replacement i got sent was different to my first element and i have been running it for 20 months now and its been going fine.

Yeh that would be good let us know. That aside its running well still

Yeah in my shed my welders 15 amp as well

I checked 2 of the old model and 1 of the new model, all had continuity to earth.

Mine must be dodgy then :handgestures-thumbdown: ive earthed my boiler directly for now

Not a concern for me because the fucker blew last week. Goin to have to change my details

I had a look at the latest version yesterday at my LHBS
It's fully sealed and has rubber molded over the terminal end, which hopefully should eliminate all the problems they've had with moisture ingress and earth leakage/shorting
That being said I won't be buying another one, everything I've bought from KK lately has been pretty average and I'm happy to spend the bit extra for parts like Mac's elements since i'm guaranteed quality from the get go

This is actually a good idea.

Almost every appliance with heating; dishwasher, oven, cooktop, etc that has exposed metal has the element earthed as well as the exposed metal sections of the frame regardless of whether the element mounting provides earth continuity to the frame.

I cut one of my new model ones open. I'm guessing it wasn't a water issue more an overheating issue with mine. Where the wires join always causes heating, and these are sealed so it cannot cool. I'm with you on staying away from that place, if I want cheap Chinese gear I have ebay.

I bought one of their co2 manifolds and one of the ball valves was leaking at the thread where it screwed into the main block
I went to remove it to add in some thread tape and found they must use a liquid thread locker and it took a fair amount of force to remove
the brass that's used it terrible and it just marked up incredibly easy
I got it apart and back together eventually but with a lot of swearing and marking
I'm buying some of their stainless camlocks in the next week or so because I figure they're going to be the same as anything I get from China on fleabay, but after that I think I'm done

also if they're over heating near the terminals, the solid wire pins that connect to the internal spiral are way too short and the design needs fixing
