No-Chill Backset

Postby poompy » Thu Aug 01, 2013 7:57 am

Hey,
Since I'm in the process of making some cornflake whiskey and wanting to use 5L of backset from the boiler I was wondering if it was possible to
store 5L of backset straight from the boiler in 5L HDPE container?
If so it could be used for any type of brewing needing some backset.
A similar process is done in beer brewing with the boiled wort (full of hops and sugar).

I would be using the backset within the next 24-48hrs so wont be stored anywhere near as long as I have done with beer wort (6-12months).

Cheers guys.

Yeah mate, I usually empty some backset into a container straight after a run, then straight into the fridge. It will last for ages ;-)
