There is no correct quantity as flavour is subjective and depends if using chips, staves, dominos or a combination. Charring or toasting, level of toast or char. The general consensus though would be 7-10grams per litre.
I personally like 7gr per litre using dominos in booze 60-65%abv for minimum of 12months.
In a 50L keg i would go 45L with 315g (approx 22-25 FSD dominos) for minimum 12months.
:text-+1: to what big rig said. A lot will also depend on if the chips/staves/dominoes are suspended or simply sitting on the bottom as well as how often the spirit heats and cools over the period. Give it 11 months and then you can start the onerous task of sampling the product to find the point you like it best. Itβs a terrible job but someone has to do it.
