Hi everyone,
I've recently come across these: https://www.bunnings.com.au/samba-2kg-o ... s_p0288895
They look like american oak chunks, decent size that I could cut down, toast and char and use for aging. Does anyone have an opinion on if they could be used for aging whiskey or perhaps done so themselves?
I figure if they are good for smoking they would probably be good for aging whiskey, Ic oudl just buy some and try it on a small batch of rum to compare it to real american oak but if someone else has an opinion it'd be helpful and potentially save me some money.
Cheers
