After a spirit run I’m trying sealing with parchment paper to let things breath for a couple days. No sealer lids, just the paper.

Should do the trick, you will have bugger all evaporation being so cold where you are :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Would be careful where you put because of fire risk.

A couple or three days seems to make it easier to do my cuts. Probably just to give my nose a rest but maybe some heads evaporate as well. Don’t know.

400 ml of foreshots were already cut and not included in those jars. The first four jars were heads. Everything else was good. Tails were already out because At 80 proof the distillation got cloudy so a gallon of tails were set aside before the pic was taken.

Ended up with 5 litre of product, 1 litre heads, gallon tails and the 400 ml fors from a 45 litre charge.

As for fire risk. Parchment is probably less risky than lids off or loose lids. It will actually hold liquid for a bit if you tip a jar over.

Keeps that red rubber seal away from the ethanol as well.

Parchment gets used when smoking ribs and brisket. Like it better than foil.

When did silicone become bad? I would use plain brown paper from sandwich bags or unbleached coffee filter..

Sorta defeats the whole purpose I was using it for.

Same, or paper towel. Basically anything to keep the cat hair out of it whilst it airs out for a day
