Port flavoured rum

Postby Fishleg » Tue Dec 27, 2022 4:22 pm

Has anyone ever soaked plain oak sticks/dominoes in port or sherry then used them for ageing?
I’m giving it a go, have soaked American oak sticks in port and sherry (separately) for about 2 months.
I’ve now pulled a stick out of each and cut into two bits. Charred one of the 2 bits then used them separately to age a small jar of 65% rum each.
I will report on results

Cheers
