Oak chips

Alrighty then….. here is another little trick you can put into your repertoire, the packets of oak chips you get from the HBS, once you have racked off your aged spirit, put the wet chips into a Chinese take away container (air tight) and store them for as long as you like. I like to put the wet chips into a fish smoker and smoke some soaked wheat and rye, gives an awesome smoky twist to your next finest sippin` bourbon :handgestures-thumbupleft: . I have used oak chips from rum and used them in the smoker for a wheat and rye mix for a bourbon and WOW !!!!, the end result was off the chart :happy-partydance: , needless to say, after it was oaked out, 15 litres did not last long………. :))
Enjoy
