Vanilla bean

I have been using vanilla bean to make cheesecakes and the pods themselves have quite a lot of aroma / flavor and I just happen to have a bottle of neutral lying about and thought why not.
Put four used bean pods in the neutral and after four days had a yummy bottle of vanilla vodka.

To clarify the used pod has had its contents scraped out, the pod has not been in the cheesecake mix.

Sounds like a good use of the pod. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Have used a 1/2 inch of vanilla been when oaking.

Also use it when infusing oak with Marsala.

Does not take much to bring out a lot of vanilla flavor.

my partner has been looking into making vanilla extract and we have some 40% neutral with 6 uncut vanilla beans in it.
It has changed to a nice golden brown and has a good vanilla taste. Add it to coke and taste just like vanilla coke.
i think it will end up being drunk before its turned into extract. :naughty:
