Looking for some advice on a bastardised whisk(e)y.
I have the ingredients for mac’s whiskey which I have been meaning to put down for a while but now I am wanting to try the BWKO instead.
I do not have the fermenter space or patience to run 1 then the other, unless I really have to.
If I was to kinda combine the ingredients of the 2 washes, what am I likely to get ? would it be something worth trying ? if so what quantities would I use ?
Was thinking for a 60L fermenter
4L corn
2 cans of LME
2kg ale malt
8 or 10kgs of white sugar
yeast
Fill water to 55L mark
Is there something I should add? The bwko also mentions wheat and barley.

I didnt enjoy the mac whisky. Have a 18 month old 5 litre demi there i dont have much intention on touching anytime soon. I loved the bwko great drop. All my bourbons are all grain now and a whole lot better

Are you converting grain if so way to much sugar. I was doing caramalt tins in bwko definately intensifies flavour. but stick to 1
kg sugar per 5l water max for best results.. from memory i scaled up bwko to 150l then added 2 cans caramalt..

No converting grains, was looking to use the corn and malt for flavour only.
1 kg sugar per 5L water would be 10kg for the 50L i am using ?!
I might drop the sugar to 8kg and use 1 tin of the caramalt

Not sure of sugar content of the malt tins but its high. I would prob drop back to 2-3kg per 5l sugar if using 2 tins in 50l.
I would add the tins to 50l water first measure gravity then bump up with sugar. Personally wouldn't go above 1.070. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Got it :handgestures-thumbupleft:
Use the tins in the water first, then add sugar as needed. Once i am at 1070 add the grains .
