Apple Pie Liqueur

Postby BigRig » Mon Nov 15, 2021 7:24 pm

This is my take on an apple pie liqueur. Its nice cold, warm, as a shot or a sipper.

Apple Pie Liqueur
700mL apple juice
1/2 red apple - seeded / sliced
1/2 green apple - seeded / sliced
2 cinnamon sticks (or 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon)
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
2 tsp brown sugar
500ml 40% neutral

Method
I use a large moccona jar - combine 500ml juice, apple, cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar, place in microwave on high for 4minutes (this is to dissolve sugar and help ingredients combine).

Add remaining 200ml juice, this should cool it enough so you can add the 500ml of spirit. Thats it.

I dont strain the ingredients, i leave it in the jar.

If you can leave it for a couple weeks before drinking it rounds off nicely.

I like it on ice, wife drinks it with a splash of cream.

Please give this a try and let me know what you think.

Gotta try this. One of the first thing I made in this new hobby was apple pie bourbon. I got the recipe of you tube. It was very drinkable. This looks good. Thanks for the recipe.
