So here goes, the first experiment I did was this:

1 Large box of Nutrigrain
5 Kg white sugar
25 L water
Lowan's yeast
Single potstilled
Aged on Oak

This turned out to be a very nice drop :handgestures-thumbupleft:

The experiment I am currently doing is this:

2 Large boxes of Nutrigrain
5 Kg Raw sugar
25 L water
Lowan's yeast
Run it thru the bubbler
Age on Oak

I will report back and let you all know how it turns out :handgestures-thumbupleft:

This is the ingredients:

INGREDIENTS:
Cereals (44%)(wheat flour, oatmeal, maize flour), sugar, wheat gluten, molasses, salt, barley malt extract, minerals (calcium carbonate, iron), mineral salt (sodium bicarbonate), natural colour (paprika, turmeric), vitamins (vitamin C, niacin, thiamin, riboflavin, vitamin B6, folate).
Contains gluten containing cereals.
May contain traces of peanuts and/or tree nuts.

What flavours are you aiming to carry through? Is this more a bourbon flavour or a whisky flavour you're aiming for?

All of them, i'm not after any particular flavour. However, when i did it last time it had quite a nice Irish flavour to it and i found it very drinkable :handgestures-thumbupleft:

hehe IRONMAN FOOD!!

So, what, if any issues does the salt in some of these cereals create? Or is it not enough to worry about?

No issues that i have found mate.
It may by an issue if i was using is for an all grain recipe and trying to get the starch conversion, but this is just a plain ol sugar wash ;-)

Hey Kimbo

Howza goin Linno,
I used the same NG for the second gen but i added a new box to the third( still leaving the old NG in the fermenter)
coz even with the 2 boxes, it still looked a little low on grains ;-)
I think I will keep adding grains to each gen until there looks like too much in the fermenter.
Once the NG goes thru the mill, it turns out to be stuff all!

Yeah mate, i crush/ mill it then put it in with my sugar.(a blender will work just as good)
When I add the backset from the previous wash, it dissolves the sugar and softens the NG at the same time ;-)
