Internals of air still - temp sensor

Does anyone know what type of temperature sensors air stills have?

From tear down videos it looks like the older models with one or two buttons have thermal cutout type switches that stop the unit when it becomes hotter than boiling.

But new models have temp controllers.

I'm wondering if it's a K type thermocouple, NTC resistor, etc?

Also generally curious how easy and what modifications could be made?

No still has a "temp" controller, stills can not be run on a thermostat , they need to keep boiling.
I might be wrong but I think the Air Still is like the T500 and has a run dry cut off

Hi Stig, the water distillers do indeed have a temp controller.

Thanks, the run dry cut off is the older style. Its the new style I'm searching for internals and component type information on.

So with something like that and the Digiboils etc , you need to crank the temp to 105 or 110 degrees so it won’t cycle on and off on the thermostat .

is this the type that you can plug the bottom bit into a voltage controller and the top bit into a proper outlet?
then the top bit works at full speed, as normal.
then the power for the bottom bit (boiler) can be adjusted.

That's the type. Though I'm not sure if the temperature controller will make things more complicated.
