Thanks guys. I have been distilling and tasting for more than thirty years. My first distilling quest was for the perfect neutral, because I believed oak, heads and tails were a killer demon. I believed the results of drinking brown liquor, beer and wine were serious brain damage. I wanted to make what is basically pharmaceutical grade ethanol. Wow how boring is that. I used what is now commonly known as a bokakob style column to achieve that.
I recently built a bigger version 86 mm ID by 1.07M stainless job back in 2007 to get the neutral spirit I call Canadian Snow.
This is the most boring alcohol you could imagine. I achieved this in 1980 too. Until the internet and Dr Stone and Mike Nixon and Mike Mcaw et al I had no idea other were into this stuff like me.
I am educated and have a degree in electrical engineering, after having started as a Chem E. Switched because of job availability.
Because of my experience as a hobby distiller for so many years and my gift of being a super taster, I have been able over the past 4 years to be able to put my other hobbies into a real fun job.
Thank you for all your kind welcomes. Nice to see some new faces.
