Hi all

Say Hi and introduce yourself

Hi all

Postby tteswod » Sat Mar 03, 2012 4:45 pm

Just a quick hello, I am new to this craft but have had a bit of a dabble including a few neutral washs, stripping runs and reflux runs, I must say I have been impressed
by the end product which was classic burbon, (maybe just lucky or not fussy enough:)

I am in proccess of collecting bits to make a new LM / VM still, I have so far got a gas burner two electric elements, 97L ss pot, 3mx50mm copper tube, 2 xtri clamp assemblies, 3m 1/4 tube which I just made into 150mm double wound condenser coil ( on second attempt) I already have brewing heat/cool controller and 3kw power controller

I have not got exact design yet, but want a slant plate design with vapour take off port with gate valve
Anyway, I found this site by browsing net to look for designs, I have tried to join on a number of occasions but failed the the mixed up number and letter code so gave up a few times, today I got lucky and look forward to being part of this great forum

Cheers

Thanks for replies, my boiler is a 97L ss cooking pot with heavy base I have fitted a 2200w element and will also gas fire it , (ensuring the heat stays away from element wiring). The gas will be used to initally bring boiler up to temp and then control with heat controller if I need to. I still need to modify lid to fit column mount, gasket and restraint.

No pics yet, I am working away from home

When I get some work done on the boiler,(restraint for lid and tri clover column mount) I will post a pic, you must be desperate for pics if you want to see just a pot and element :laughing-rolling:
I am not a digger driver, my machine has hooks  ,I may be going home from work soon because of rain, so hopefully I can make a start.

Cheers
