Getting back into it

Postby Hill » Wed Jul 07, 2021 8:03 am

Well after about 4 years I’ve decided to get back into it. I previously had a 4 plate bubbler with packed section and sold it to upgrade my brewery. I have a custom 135l nano brewery with 360l glycol jacketed fermenter, the glycol system is setup for cooling water as well. My kettle will hold about 130l of wash so I’ve decided why not put a still on top and have some fun with it. I’m limited on height so going to start with a 2” pot still and later look at an offset column still. It’s funny how things work because I went away from distilling as I wasn’t drinking much spirit and lost interest, beer is my true passion and I work as a professional brewer as well as home brew but I have just taken a job where distilling is involved so I’ve just signed up for my ibd general certificate in distilling and it’s totally brought back the passion I once had for distilling. I look forward to catching up on what you guys have been up to, I really enjoyed this forum when I started my distilling path and it was responsible for everything I know about the wonderful world of distilling.
Cheers guys

Totally not jealous of that setup as I contemplate another brew day on my front porch

I used to to drink to think about sexy things and what I would do with a million dollars

Damn that is sexy but what did you do with the change?

That's a kick arse set up right there, have seen a few "hobby size" breweries in blokes sheds like that, usually just before they go pro :D
