Gday,

I newbie who has been lurking here and the home distiller site (a lot of crossovers I can see).
Drink Scotch/rum/gin mainly.
Built a 50L keg boiler and a copper pot still with a Liebig. Have done my sacrificial runs, have an all-bran sugar head and a fancy molasses wash fermenting out for the weekend.
Lots to learn, never done grain and TBH it's a bit intimidating but keen to learn, want to get to my own whisky one day.
In the meantime, I'll keep reading and experimenting.

Welcome deadliftsnstill.

All-grain is a bit daunting but there's a bit of info around the forums and number of friendly folks with experience in that area that will happily answer any questions you may have.
I would recommend you start off with the cereal based washes to get your eye in and learn about your still, cuts etc then move on to all grain to make things easier. The cereal based washes do make a very good base for whiskies and vodka.

Cheers,
Prof. Green.
