Hi distillers !
Never distilled before so looking forward to this slippery slope !
I’m looking to build a boiler from a 50 L beer keg
My question is that is it possible to fit an electric element underneath the keg instead of inside the keg ? Would this be an efficient way to transfer heat ?

G’Day Jay
If your talking about welding a square box onto the bottom of the keg ie a sump style setup , then yes, it’ll work fine

Bonding an element to a keg is something I have thought about. I am not sure on details but a furnace is needed and molten metals. Not saying it cant be done but would be a task. Would it work? Cant see why not...pics if you takle it would be good :handgestures-thumbupleft:
