Stig has already been helping me. I am not a fan at all of essences, I like whiskey, but the essences I tried are just horrible. I am finding the clean spirit is far nicer than adding a nasty essence to it that in my limited experience adding an essence that has nothing to do with the real drink it is imitating is not a good plan.

Sometimes with the essences they don’t stand a chance as the original spirit is no good. If you know you are starting with good spirit it might be time to get some oak dominoes from 5star and begin the aging process. Looks like you will be drinking the spirit for a little while until the oak starts having an effect.

My spirit is really nice, a touch sweet if anything so looking at weetbix wash next time.
I found the whiskey essense terrible, really yuck. The spirit is nice just not after adding essence.
I thought about oak etc but the essence was so bad I could not imagine it becoming good.

I tried the Edwards, they were better than some but not close to whiskey I thought.
