Hello Punters

Hi everyone. I came here looking to see where and how I can get started distilling my own spirits. This forum seems to pop up alot so I joined but with the added part that I sell Molasses from my business here in Western Australia and thought I would reach out to any members here in the west that needs or wants to use molasses. Happy to provide interstate but think the postage would not make me competitive with what you can get locally. My product is sweet with a brix level over 80%. I provide a COA on every batch I bring in so i know exactly what is inside. I know most go through stockfeed stores. I have been supplying Molasses for 2 years now mainly to stockfeed manufacturers and stores. They seem to like my product as it is pure molasses. I dont water it down or add anything to it. It comes straight from the sugar factory in Indonesia. I know it is not Australian but we are limited here in the West and the product is good. I use it in cooking replacing brown sugar in most things like my jerky and when I smoke meats.

I generally sell a 1L bottle for $2.00 +GST
2L $4.50+GST

I do 5L, 20L and IBC containers. Happy to post the product but that would be extra as I have no idea what postage costs would be. I will provide postage quotes if there is any interest.

Ok onto the good stuff. I have a massive interest in making my own Rum, Whiskey, Bourbon & Gin. No idea what to use, whats involved and time needed. so any advice would be greatly valued. and yes I supply to a larger distillery here in Perth.

Thanks in advance

equipment: I sell molasses primarily to stockfeed manufacturers and stores. I understand there is a market for home distillers and most buy from stock feed stores. If there is big enough demand I am happy to sell direct to home users.

Hello Matt
Looks like you will be needing a pot still mate to do your brown spirits. In the immortal words of Molly “ do yourself a favour” and give Andrew at 5 star a call. You will be blown away by his wealth of knowledge and lack of pressure.

You will get top quality gear that will last a lifetime, unfortunately once you start down the rabbit hole you will just want more and more and more shiney things lol

Welcome Matt.

Looking at what you want to make, I see a modular still in your future. Definitely have a chat to Andrew at 5 star, he'll see you right.

Cheers,
Prof. Green.
