Hello from a 1st timer

Say Hi and introduce yourself

Hello from a 1st timer

Postby Tiger Lily » Sun Sep 02, 2012 4:16 pm

Hi all :)

I am glad (I think) that I found this forum. I joined another site a couple of days ago and got treated like an idiot for asking questions. So I will try not to ask too many questions just yet but if you don't ask questions how do you know where you may have gone wrong?

I know, I know, read all the topics?

I am not familiar with all the terminology just yet but I made my first batch last week and wasn't very happy with it. 2 days on it does appear to be a lot better though. I have even had compliments about it. Next time I would like it to be 100% though so I came here to learn. If I am going to put an effort into something I want it to be right

Thanks in advance for not being rude to me lol :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Hi Tiger Lily,
Welcome to the forum.

Think you will be fine here. The guys here have been very tolerant of my novice questions. I do not even own a still yet, but ave learned heaps, reading the different threads and asking lots and lots of questions.

So, what was your first run and what kind of still do you own? :)

Maybe I can learn off you as well!

Hey Tiger Lilly welcome aboard the ship of fools :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Bollocks to people if they give you crap about asking questions, everyone starts somewhere... if someone gives you crap because you don't know something they're elitist twats and not worth worrying about.

The people here are good, helpful, larrakins and I'm sure you'll enjoy it a lot.

Hi Lupus and Mulla.

Thanks for the welcome :) I feel a bit battle weary from the other place. With 27,000 topics I did read a lot but nothing seemed to answer all of my questions, so I had the audacity to ask! Shame on me but enough about that. It has made me a little reserved to begin with though

Lupus I made rum and bourbon on my first run and have a BTE super reflux

I followed the instructions. Did quite a bit of research online etc but nothing beats trial and error

I am ready to start again and want to do it better this time

Welcome TL,

Think you'll find the attitude a bit better here, we do want you to learn and take care of yourself, but that's why we don't mind answering questions.

Nobody here will give you a tough time.

Cheers.

Thanks McStill :)

I am about to ask my first question. Hope I put it in the right place

I am anxious to get my next wash happening early this week so I want to learn FAST and maybe my questions may help other newbies like myself

Howdy TL,

As all the rest have said no one will give you a hard time here for asking something. I'm pretty sure some of my questions were no brainers but like you said if you dont ask you cant learn. enjoy the forum and dont be afraid to ask anything you need to :D

Hi TL

Welcome to the forum.
In life there is no such thing as a stupid question.....If you dont ask you dont learn ;-)
There are plenty of good guys on this site that will give you answers you require, they my not answer straight away but you will get an answer in the end.

Once again welcome and enjoy your stay in the loony bin 8-} 8-} :laughing-rolling: :laughing-rolling:

There were a few lol. One even said they were tolerating questions from me and I only asked one. Then followed it up by saying I SHOULD ask questions first.

Enough of that, it was a pretty bad experience all round. I run a forum myself and know how frustrating internet life can be because I run a forum myself

Thanks to everyone who has been warm and welcoming without mentioning you all by name
