I recently bought 2" copper tubing from Benton's Plumbing for $40/m. They're happy to sell by the metre & will cut to size at no charge. The workers at my local shop (Bendigo) were really helpful. I also got 1/2" for $8/m. They also stock a full range of 2" copper fittings.
Really glad I shopped around as Reece quoted me $120/m for a 6m length (total $720!!), or I could buy by the metre for $135/m plus cutting fee!

Here’s my tip for buying short lengths, go to a plumber! They will have offcut laying around that pisses them off.

Trade supplies shops rip off retail customers, end of story.

I walked into Ullrich Aluminium and ordered a sheet 2400x1200x3 of checkerplate, was told $300+ dollars, I told them it was an account purchase, and the price was $130.

Think about it, why would they give the local guy walking in off the street, the same price as someone that spends $200k a year with them?

RING AROUND YOUR LOCAL PLUMBERS! My mate 3 doors up is a plumber, he’s had 1500mm of 2 inch copper rolling around in the back of his ute for a month, I keep forgetting to grab it.

If anyone wants stainless tube, go to your local stainless shop, stop getting ripped off!

Check this out, this is from my mate. $110 a metre retail, down to $34 a metre trade.

If anyone is looking to go halves on a 6 m length from plumbing sales let me know.

https://plumbingsales.com.au/copper-tub ... ype-b.html

Works out to about $40/m.

Or let me know if there is a better option out there!

Cheers!

How about popping into the welcome centre genius
And if your wanting to split a sale , the clever thing to do would be put a general location , no point guy from Darwin wanting 500mm only to find your in Tasmania , get my drift
