you can get pretty decent volt and amp meters of eBay perfect for these controllers and only about $9 each inc postage but you have to make sure you get AC ones and the voltage and amperage is in the desired ranges

I found a lot of cheap amp meters (ammeters) on ebay from China, Taiwan etc etc.. but didnt want to wait until 10th to 23rd of August for delivery.

If you've got an Aussie mob in mind we can get them from with fast shipping I'm more than interested ;)

Dont mind paying extra if I can have it now

rs are a really good company i use them for work for vairous gear sometimes they are overpriced on items but others are really good never have had bad service !!

also McStill im inquiring about the tpsr-25 and the psr-25 as far as we could work out today is that the tpsr is uk stock and the psr is aus stock other than the fact you can use a thiristor (spelling) on the tpsr. i have to go back in about 2 weeks to chat to a bloke about these controllers because it looks like using the psr-25 causes RF noise down the powerlines and energex/ergon dont like that could/will invesigate the issue also it will stuff with your fm radio and maybe your tv

yeah some have said about that RF noise thing
and some have said that the RF noise is BullShit around killing your tv

that said i dont have my plasma on when stilling..... ;)

as for ergon coming looking ..... i would think it would take a lot of noise to get them looking... but maybe ?

i might plug it in tomorrow (under load) and plug my radio in to the same plug and "listen"
mine is only pulling 10amps and i did not think there would be much "noise" from it?

Maheel it doesn't actually take much for energex/ergon to come looking for problems and a feedback radio frequency is something they look at

as for killing your tv it wont happen it just may make it ghost or fuzzy all depends on the TV some do play up with RF others don't

btw im an electrician by trade that's the only reason i know about the energex/ergon and feedback issue (also i usually call them if there is a problem at my job site  )

..... on the destruction's for the PSR-25 it does recommend the use of a filter ;)

It'll be very interesting to find out if the PTSR thermistor is usable, building a controller could cost less than $50 and no need to wait for ages buying OS or from ebay.

Looking forward to seeing what you find out 8-ball ;)

can we "test" for RF at home simply ?

thanks 8-ball good to have a sparky in the team here :)
