XXXX Brewery Tour - Anyone done it?

Am up north next February, so booked in to do the tour while I am there. They advertise it runs for an hour, so I am assuming it will be better than the Bundy Rum tour. Anyone done it? If its crap I just blew $27 and wont bother, otherwise looking forward to it. Always good to see how different breweries operate, even the "big" commercial ones.

Done it about 15 years ago. Wasn't bad from memory, don't remembe a whole lot though, pretty cool to see it all being bottled with all the automatic machinery.

I done it about 3 years ago. Well worth it. Me and a mate were the only ones on the tour so we got a 1 on 1 for talking BS and running a muk. We went on a weekend so all the conveyers and machinery weren't running but they showed us a video of it all happening.

Best part is the bar. All the bar and overhead pipes are all polished copper (beautiful copper porn). They gave us a punch card for i think 4 free beers however they were getting a laugh outta us so they would complain saying there must of been holes in our glasses and refilled our glasses and without punching out a drink on the card. So about 7 free schooners later we nearly missed our flight home cause we got carried away. At the time I went it was the only place you could get XXXX Summer on tap.

My opinion is well worth $27 and that was without the free beers. If you one for memorabilia the gift shop is awesome

I'm a country bumpkin too so I'm easily amused

Ok thanks for the comments - I'm really looking forward to it now. Was hoping it wasn't going to be like the rum tour.

One of the best weddings I've ever been to was at the brewery, well the reception was anyway. I recon my mate married the right girl there too, it was actually her idea. The bar area was where the reception was and it truly is amazing with all the polished stainless and copper. Tour wasn't too bad either, came free with the wedding. Got fantastically pissed at that wedding too :handgestures-thumbupleft:
