Pressure relief valve

I built my own plated column still with a keg boiler. What I don't have is a pressure relief valve. Do I need one? If so what are my options? Do I put it on the boiler or above the dephlegmater? Also what size should I get? Cheers

No mate, you dont need a relief valve

All commercial stills require a PRV , I’ve had a few “discussions” with the powers that be about the plated columns being an open system but they just don’t listen.
So now we add a 2” PRV to all commercial systems
It’s an easy add if you want peace of mind , they go on the boiler

Thanks guys. As I can't make changes to my keg myself it would be a hassle to get one put on. I will leave it for now. Cheers

No reason you cant put a 4"x2" tee on boiler 7nder column put prv on side branch orientation wont matter..
