Another vote right here. Brilliantly documented build! Two build motivated me for starting mine, Bushys & Brendans.
Well done on an excellent build with tonnes of pics!

Just thought i'd post up this video.

It's from my latest apple run, and I thought for beginners and those who don't have bubblers/plated columns and like to watch them :D , it shows how quickly the plates start to load once the column is filled with vapour and it hits the reflux condenser.

The video shows the top plate in a 6 plate configuration, and you can see when it pans down to the second top plate that the window is all foggy, but as the vapours sort themselves out and the plate begins to load, you can see the glass start to clear up :handgestures-thumbupleft:

That's only at 2700W :shifty:

Maybe I'm overpowering it? That is the top plate in full reflux though, the other plates aren't as full...

I'll take a video of mine when I get my electrics sorted and show you what mine looks like.

Much less 'aggressive'(for lack of a better word) bubbles.. but mine is a bubble cap, maybe that suppresses the bubbles?

Awesome thread. Now that its been a while since you built it - is there anything you would change?

Cheers,

The name of the thread?

No one else has been game enough to attempt to forecast a finishing date prior to starting to build. This build is one of the best and most well documented build threads on this forum. The 6 weeks name was adventurous but the result was fantastic.

Was meaning to disrespect to the quality of the thread or the builder or even the time frame it was completed in. I just wondered with it done and now being run is there anything spec wise that was worth changing?
