Very nice :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Love the attention to detail and the small volume fast parrot with the reduced feed in tube.... nice piece of thinking :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Look forward to hearing tales of unprecedented performance here at a bare min...please keep us updated

WD a nice build

Love it DBV, done well once again :handgestures-thumbupleft:

So how do you like the shiny copper look? How long before it goes black :teasing-tease: :laughing-rolling:

The rc pipe turned out alright and those trademark sight glasses look cool too.

Thanks Guys.

Hey Woodduck
SP2 won't be going black.... unless someone wants it too.
I know how most blokes prefer the shiny copper look.
When SP2 is finished and run a few times I'll be selling it.

I've already got ideas for another still.
But as always need $$$ to do anything about it.
So this still must go first, or I can't build the next.

But that is probably some months away.

I like the sound of that. You always come up with something out of the box. any hints on what it might be?

I wait in anticipation :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Hey WD
Mate, the next one is a similar size but better :D
The boiler is bigger, but better :D
The build finish is similar, but.... you get the idea :D

Each build is done to learn from.
New techniques and equipment for building better stills, give a better result.
I am a collector of ideas and metal working equipment, so it's all a progressive thing.

The next step costs more $$$ so each build gives me that little extra cash to go on.

That enough vague hints :laughing-rolling: :laughing-rolling: :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Thanks for watching
DBV

I'm trying to work out what to build next aswell  I've got a fair bit of 4" ss but it's just not calling me like the copper did :))

I look forward to SP3 :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Well did a vinegar run last night and SP2 leaked like a sieve. :crying-blue: :crying-blue:
Not to worry, stripped it down this morning added extra seals, put it all back together and ran a sacrificial today.

No leaks, not even in the water lines. :D :banana-rainbow: :banana-rainbow: :banana-wrench: :banana-wrench: :banana-wrench:

Four of the five plates worked perfectly..... not sure why the fifth didn't.

So just a couple of photos.

SP2 is specially optioned out for those that need their cuppa nice and hot......
A cup warmer..... don't see that every day as part of a still. :D :D

Add a small section of tube that just sits on top with a cut out for a pie warmer, hot pie and coffee :O)

Looks great DBV. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

dogbreath vodka wrote:When I built the boiler I didn't realise how well the sight glass would fit it's housing.
It's so tight that the only way I can get it out is by pushing it from the inside....
Defeating the purpose of a sight glass and fill port.
I'd have to remove the column to fill the boiler. :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead:

Can you use a suction cup to pull the lens out?

Cheers, TL...

Thanks TL
I did use a suction cup for some time but it gave up the ghost.
Now I just use the cup warmer. :D

Those suction cups are so expensive $4 from China (inc postage) :-D

SP2 is still running well. Got to love the speed of a 6" on a small keg (80 ltrs). :handgestures-thumbupleft:

That sounds like a challenge TL :D

Looks like I'll be making a vid on Thursday as well.
Promise there won't be any hairy nipples in it though. :laughing-rolling:

The current configuration is only three plates and the Carter Head.
Not enough headroom for the five plus c/h etc.
