Water connection 1/4 inch pipe

Hi Guys,
I've been to the hardware store multiple times to work out some way to connect my 1/4 inch copper condenser to a normal garden hose. At the moment I can get a 6mm clear hose that fits over the copper piping with a hose clamp but can't find anything to connect this hose to a normal garden hose. Has anyone got any pics or fittings they can share to help me out?

Hi Dean. This is what I used on my condenser.

Cut in half, it makes two connectors. The hole though the middle is 10mm from memory. I had a piece of 10mm brass rod that I cut and drilled to 1/4” to make a sleeve to pack out the gap. Soft soldered into place and problem solved. It’s a cheep solution which also gives you a snap fitting.

A shim or two of copper wrapped around the 1/4” tube would also do the job. If that’s too hard, strip down some electrical wiring and wrap it around the tube to close the gap.

I like the above solution, if you need to do it solder free, at big green shed, go to the watering section (where the garden hoses are), you will find a plastic barbed adapter there in the drip irrigation section, otherwise a car or bolt shop will have the barb in brass or stainless to a bsp thread, then another barb or threaded fitting to go up to the 12mm, that will get a little spendy

Easiest option would be to use a compression fitting, not expensive either.
