Turned 50 in Jan, thought it was about time I did something for me.
Dropped $1,500 on this :D
It just needs feet and a drain, and many hours of polishing.......

Yep 3 x 4” ferrules plan is a multi column build
Has 2 x element ports in other end

Just be careful you don't make a bomb. I reckon you'd be better off with view port, fill port and a column mount. Multi column sounds too dangerous unless you have some safe way to turn off two columns and ALWAYS have one column open. Regardless of human error.

Why did you not just buy a milk-can boiler?

Multi column build not only sounds potentially dangerous but highly problematic.
Vapour will always choose the path of least resistance.
What type of stills are you planning on putting on this?
And what volume is it?

Hey fellas I will just jump in here and say this sure as hell is not maxxxs first rodeo. He knows his way around distilling very well and his knowledge is first class. I also know he has spent time around multi column stills in the past.

Hey guys
Definitely not first rodeo but good advice is always appreciated and actually why I’m here.
Not planning on building anything that goes bang! (Not in this hobby anyway)
Did consider a milk can but wanted 20 litre extra for head space (will make this rum thing work if it kills me)
Current VM has a 2m 4” column and I’m now officially too old/lazy to climb the ladder...
Ultimate plan is column 1 = 4 plates for rum and whiskey, and cut the current VM in half and have 2 x 1m columns with top of One feeding the bottom of the other.
The boiler will do double duty as a resonant frequency test chamber for my other hobby - Tesla experiments.
Boiler is actually 316 - non magnetic and 5mm thick

Pics are too small maxxx...

5mm bloody hell... you need a bigger access port so you can climb in to survive the coming apocalypse

Glad you've got a secondary use for it maxxx, cause that's bloody overkill for our hobby.
