Hi guys,

I`m a total newb to distilling, I bought a cheapo chinese reflux still ages ago,and just recently bought a 50lt keg. Problem is, the Sanke fitting is 2.5" and the fitting on th still is only 2". I`ve seen 3" and 4" reducer fittings, but nothing for a 2.5" fitting. i`ve included some pics, and I know the still is probably total crap, but i`m on a very tight budget.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Cheers.

The triclover sizes refer to the pipe they normally fit to, not the flange size. So your keg is 2 inch and your still is 1.5 inch. A 2 to 1.5 reducer is easy to get. Don't forget clamp and gasket as well.
Cheers.

Hey pommielad.
To connect that column to that keg you will need
1x 2”>1.5” reducer
1x 1.5” ferrule
1x 2” ferrule
1x 2” triclover clamp
1 x 2” triclover gasket with ridge removed from one side to clamp to 2” sanke flat fitting
2x welds (1.5” ferrule to top and 2” ferrule to bottom of reducer)

Better idea : cut the 1.5 ferrule off the bottom of the column, weld on 1x 2” ferrule to match the keg
Less parts, less cost ( 1x weld)
Are you anywhere near Brisbane- I might be able to help you out
Cheers
Maxxx

Thanks guys, I think the cut and weld option sounds like the go, in down in sunny Tassie, but thanks for the offer Maxxx, much appreciated advice for a clueless wonder.
