Boil Time Calculator

In my pursuit for more consistency in my runs, I found this calculator:

http://www.phpdoc.info/brew/boilcalc.html

It allows me to work out roughly how much power in watts I am running at with gas when running each ring or any combination of rings at full noise. So for example, I now know that when running all three rings at full power, I am running at the equivalent of around 5000w.

I hope this helps anyone to get a bit more knowledge about their equipment and hopefully some more consistency.

Cheers :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Hey mate, you might like this calculator I put together last year. Will be a bit more accurate because it takes into account the %alcohol in your wash and how that affects the boiling point and the heat capacity. There's also a couple of other tabs that have handy calculators.

Nice one mate! :-D

Looks like you've been doing some serious analysis too!

Wish I knew it was here! Thanks

No worries, I use it all the time, helps to roughly know the time that you need to be paying special attention. It's particularly handy for electrical boilers, because you can work out how much heat you're losing to the environment.
