Using Almonds

Postby gavin2024 » Sun Jul 28, 2024 4:40 pm

Forgive me if this is a silly question, I added almonds to a sugar wash as I wanted to experiment with different flavours. I’ve been using TPW’s in my pot still, but it’s carrying a lot of the tomato flavour & aroma over after distillation.

Based on what I’ve read on this site, users seem to favour almond essences over the actual nuts. Is what I am fermenting fine for consumption or, should I scrap it & start over?

Warm regards,

Gavin

Hi Gavin welcome to the forum mate :handgestures-thumbupleft: go into the Welcome Centre mate and tell us a bit about yourself as an introductory post

Now this thread should be moved to the right forum as a beginner question is not Tried & Proven :laughing-rolling:

Thanks Bryan.
Gavin , the crazy one is correct so Ive moved your post here .
Do an intro post then come back.
As for almonds , I’ve never used them only essence , I always worried that the cyanide contained in almonds would leach out .
Cheers
