Can you test your connections with a multimeter. :-B

I wouldn't trust that earth connection. If it were me, I'd use a nice crimp lug rather than trust just screwing down on the wire.

yea just found that out the hard way and got a nice shock but good news as i got shocked the lamp i was testing worked so seems just like a earthing issue lol ah well got to learn somehow

yep i think so to my mate sent me a link and told me that i should order this instead

I got my sparky inlaw to have a look at them for me, he looked around and ordered the same parts of eBay for around $28 delivered. Best to get a sparky to sort that for you IMHO. No chance of a mishap then.

I wish I had found this site years ago, I would have saved a serious amount of cash, for some reason it never occurred to me that all the info I needed would be in a forum. I had a couple of books and that was all I used to get started. I used a T500 for a few years with a power controller, so much better, with good cuts makes a nice neutral. One thing I have always done is to get a sparky to do the electrical work, no probe with insurance the main reason, then safety :shifty: hope this helps. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

This may be one of your problems

We take safety in every aspect of distilling extremely seriously around here, you made it work but you don't know it's safe. What happens if it fails and your boilers live and your missus or kid etc gets dead real quick?

Get a licensed electrician to test it before you use it, if you continue to post about disregarding this then you obviously don't agree with what this forum is about.

I have moved this to the electrical section read the writing in pink at the top.

Also read our forum rules again regarding commercial advertising.
